Verizon runs constant stats on all of their customers, like any good business. One of the recent discoveries released within their quarterly report this week, was that customers are holding on to phones for longer. I’d been thinking it was two years, a lot of what we’ve been told. Apparently it’s far longer, and is an overall concern for the manufacturers as well. It seems that the average upgrade cycle at Verizon, who is growing nicely, is at 42 months now. 3 1/2 years between Galaxy phones, iPhones, and the rest of them. I feel this can be attributed clearly to a lack of features that customer needs or wants… again, by the manufacturers.

The phone carrier has spotted a pattern in recent customer behavior that is sparking concern.
