When you use AI, do you say please? Thank you? I know that I do, as part of how I simply operate. Sam Altman, the ChatGPT CEO says that simply using this is costing OpenAI “tens of millions of dollars”. He’s not asking anyone to stop, as it’s well-spent, presumably working to encourage the idea of politeness everywhere. It seems that 70% of people are polite to AI, and I support this idea fully. Our world is full enough of people who aren’t polite on social media, from Facebook to LinkedIn, and the idea of civil discourse needs to come through on every action, message, request, or use of even the inanimate objects. The last, simply to keep us in the habit of being proper when dealing with others.
