Google showed off another pair of Augmented Reality glasses this week. This is a field that they have tinkered with for a long time now, starting off with the infamous Google Glass project, back over 10 years ago. At that time, it was obvious, and not really charming. It worked, but at $1500, nobody was interested. At TED this week, they showed up to talk about another one called XR, or Extended Reality. It’s still not ready for the public, but we’ve been seeing this for a while. I’m hoping that things have advanced techwise, as look is now more stylish, being not much different than a bulky set of RayBans. I have my wants for a set of smart glasses, so I’ll continue to watch how this unfolds in the coming months.
Google’s unnamed XR glasses include a display and AI connectivity, but we have no idea if Google will ever release it.
