I used to have seconds turned on within Windows. Down in the system tray, where the time sits, it was important for me to know exact timings for various things. A recent update to Windows 10 took that away. The claim from one side is that it’s a burden on the speed of our computers. It’s a strange consideration, considering the level of graphics power we have, the simplicity of time, and the fact that digital watches have been showing seconds on them, with far less processing, since I was a kid. The other side claims that it’s a small little push for us to move to Windows 11, but that seems like a stretch as well. Either way, it’s strange.
It’s a small thing, but it makes you wonder if Microsoft is deliberately removing features from Windows 10 to make Windows 11 more appealing.
