This disturbing information is a clear reminder of the need to explain to youth the dangers that exist in technology, how to respond and report, and how the world isn’t as safe as it seems. The assumptions that we make as parents and adults need to be thrown aside, and open lines need to be developed to educate and inform how to handle uncomfortable and illegal situations alike. It’s better that youth understand that parents are there to help with any challenge that comes their way, no matter what happens.
