Even more proof is coming out that screen time before bedtime is a bad idea. The Journal of the American Medical Association published a new study that tracked 122,000 people over two years. Across the board, they found that people who were exposed to screens before heading to bed had a 33% higher amount of poor sleep quality. They also reported sleep was pushed back by 19-20 minutes on all days, which made things worse. A little self-control may be hard, so there are tools in both iOS and Android to encourage better sleep habits, but it’s up to all of us to leverage these. It is, however, up to you to realize it’s a problem, and take that action.
According to a large study, using screens at night is delaying bedtimes, reducing the amount of shut-eye time, and the quality of sleep across all age groups.
