Microsoft seems ready to follow Apple in the controlling of all of the updates coming to our Windows systems. This week, they noted that anyone who develops hardware or builds apps can now sign up for something new… The Windows Update Orchestration Platform. Under this platform, which is focused on business apps, anyone can hand off the process of updating over to Microsoft, much like they have owned basic drivers for much of our hardware for ages under the Plug and Play concept. There are other ways already in place to do this, but it seems that Microsoft’s goal is to make updates as easy as Apples auto-updater process. Seamless, with an astonished feeling when we realize that it’s all very current, as it should be.
