Imagine if you broke a part on something you own that runs $50 or $100, but you can replace that part by 3D printing it. Some of the various libraries on the Internet have done that already with 3rd party redesigns. Phillips, one of the leading companies in the electric razor world has started something remarkable, however. This past week, they announced they are going to provide the files needed to do this printing on your own, using their original specifications, instructions, and guidance. It’s in an early stage right now, but it could launch us in a new direction where, if for nothing else, the promise of being able to fix it on our own is a deal changer.
