I thought that the saga of 23andMe couldn’t get any stranger. Anne Wojcicki was the founder and former CEO. She resigned in March, after bringing the company public, getting it’s value to $6 Billion before it collapsed under the weight of serious lack of profits. She is now working to buy it for $305 million, or just about $50 million more than what another company offered to purchase it for in May. It’s all up to the bankruptcy courts at this point, but one has to wonder about the money shell game, what’s going to happen to the data, and if this idea still has promise after all of the baggage of bankruptcy. Still, Anne seems to think she’s on the right path… so…
