Apple’s WWDC25 coverage, which we’ll cover this week, had less focus on Apple Intelligence, but still some. CNET ran a study that noted only 11% of smartphone owners will upgrade because of AI. Adding to this, 3 in 10 didn’t find mobile AI to be helpful, and don’t are to see more new features. This echo’s my own observations, and that of Keith, where people want something more than a vague reference to something that doesn’t deliver as well as it should. Price, battery, and storage, are the top 3 concerns, with camera falling in 4th place, but it’s not likely that Apple, Samsung, or the rest are going to address that biggest one of price.

Consumers appear to care even less about mobile AI than they did last year, despite companies like Apple, Samsung and Google piling on new AI capabilities.
