Facebook has long held videos as a separate concept from Reels. The idea of a Reel was up to 90 seconds of video and audio, and was meant to take on the likes of TikTok. Now, they are shifting to merge the feeds together, and simplifying the process. This series of changes will impact Facebook, but I also wonder if this is simply tinkering, rather than innovating. Facebook usage seems to be falling off in some ways by my friends, and changing a lot of how we view social media. Is it still the juggernaut? Yes, but where will this take us next? Good news for creators is that the process reportedly will become far more seamless.

Facebook announced on Tuesday that all videos on its platform will soon be shared as reels, regardless of their length or orientation.
