As we move towards the streaming only broadcast of the NCIS spinoff called Tony and Ziva, it is interesting to see that the viewing numbers are changing. In May, more people watched TV by streaming than broadcast and cable content combined. This is being attributed in a number of areas to a spike in older viewers in the streaming world, but also across all options. People have been cord cutting when they realized that the cable services were not offering the on-demand, nor even the great new content that people clamor for. Sure, the big broadcast names are still out there, but each of them has found or developed a significant presence online through Paramount, Hulu, or one of the other streamers.
In May, more Americans watched television on streaming than on cable and network television combined, Nielsen said. It is the first time that has happened over a full month.
