United Natural Foods is a distributer of… yep, food. They are in fact, the largest distributor of natural products in the United States. They are also the primary distributor to Whole Goods, owned by Amazon, and covering 1/3rd of their products. UNFI also covers many other grocery stores across the country as well. They were hit with a cyberattack, and are warning of a disruption due to shutting down all of their computers on Tuesday. This reportedly has also started to impact the stores, as one might imagine. It’s hard to say that this cyberattack is an example of the world we live in, whether a lucky strike, or a targeted effort, but it’s important to always note that having enough food on hand for a week should be a priority concern in all households.
United Natural Foods said it is “diligently managing through the cyber incident” that sparked disruption outages.
