A woman freaked out on TikTok because her phone charging cord was the older USB-A style, not the new USB-C style in her brand new car. This garnered a lot of negative attention from viewers, who pointed out that there are replacement cables, adapters and more, available for cheap. This is a part of standardization, and progress in technology, and while I feel for her, the solutions are there. Technology will be giving us many new things over the years, and one of our goals should always be to adapt to inevitable change. We’ve moved from the pen and pencil, through typewriters and PCs, to these marvelous devices that fit in our pockets.
