Apple is proving to be nothing but nimble. The production of many millions of iPhones has been shifted to India from China. Further, the majority of iPhones currently produced for us are now coming from India. Add this to a plan for Apple to spend $600 billion to start manufacturing here in the United States, as a response to tariff increases, and we start to see a return of major tech to onshore. Many companies were referenced in the latest update from Apple, which included Corning who makes the glass; Broadcom and Texas Instruments who are famous for chips; and Samsung who provides some of the display tech used in the iPhones. I’m personally excited about the prospect of an American-made major-name smartphone.
