Back in another time, you’d have a landline, and whoever was home could answer the phone. A long time ago, I setup to use a service that would allow incoming phone calls to ring to both my phone, as well as my wife’s. It worked, but I let it go after realizing that we didn’t use it enough to bother. Verizon has duplicated this same concept, and calls it Family Line. It also has another feature, where anyone can join up to this same phone call while it’s in progress, which is cool. There is a small downside, in that you can’t bring over your old landline phone number, presuming you have one, but otherwise, it’s really a cool idea. Side factoid: Only about 21% of adults today live in a residence with a landline.
One potential hangup: You can’t port an existing landline number over to this new service.
