We heard a double-whammy of announcements from this past week from Amazon. First up, they have a September Announcement event coming on the 30th, where they usually announce new hardware. Now, it’s too early to tell if that hardware will be ready right away, so how it impacts their second announcement, of a new Prime Day on October 7th and 8th. This could be a chance to get some good discounts on the outgoing hardware, but it could be new hardware combined with deals on all of the other things surrounding it. Either way, this is a common Amazon thing at this time of year, drumming up more sales before we get into the holidays, which include Amazon’s Black Friday sales. We will be watching to see what they bring on the 30th.
