It’s been a long time since we talked about a new record breaking car. Let’s start this off with the manufacturer name, which most people are unaware of. BYD is a Chinese multinational manufacturing conglomerate. In 2024, it actually made twice as many electric passenger vehicles as Tesla. That’s not the news, however. They’ve built a limited release hypercar that they put on a test track in Germany for a new unofficial high speed record… 308.33 miles per hour. This beats out the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ by 4 miles per hour, set in 2019. Unofficial record, however, is the sticking point… to be official, it has to do the record in both directions, and it only did it in one. Save your money, because this will be expensive, and only 30 lucky owners will get one.
There’s a new top speed record to beat and it’s from the YangWang U9 Extreme.
