Meta’s deep dive into our lives is getting deeper. Imagine giving Facebook access to your camera roll, thinking it’s for uploading photos and videos to your feed. Back in June, they offered up cloud processing features to help you find and improve content for sharing. Now, it seems that AI is scanning all of those images to train the AI, to prep for enhancing y our imagery, and use however they see fit. What’s in your images that you don’t want out there? Family photos, location data of each of those, your drivers license or license plate, screenshots of personal information, items that can be used to sell to you, or whatever else. This is marketed as a convenience feature to you, but it reeks of an intrusion that could be far more insidious over the long haul, if it isn’t already.
