Noting that Google and Apple aren’t talking about this, so it could be rumor, or not a done deal. As much as we’ve been hearing about Apple Intelligence, it’s interesting that Apple is reportedly looking at Google’s Gemini product to get a leg up in that space for Siri. The Siri updates have been promised for a while, and AI is a tough space, so it makes sense that they would work out a deal to get ahead at this point. This may cost Apple another $1 Billion, but Google already pays Apple $20 Billion to be the default search engine on Apple devices, so while these are big numbers to most of us, it’s not that big for Apple. Apple, of course, just reached past the $4 Trillion market cap point recently, and Google isn’t far behind so to both, these are small numbers.
Apple has reportedly agreed to pay Google $1 billion annually to develop a specialized version of Gemini that will power next-gen Siri.
