One of the oddest bits of news came this week, when Micron, the owners of Crucial memory, drives, etc… announced they were shutting down the Crucial brand. I’ve long been a fan of Crucial, and have probably referenced them at least one a year for the almost 18 years that we’ve been broadcasting. The decision was attributed to something I’ve been less fond of, the demand and draw of AI companies for more resources. The announcement was that Crucial will continue shipping products until the end of February, and provide continued warranty and support, but I’m not sure how a lifetime warranty works for a brand that no longer exists. Just another indication that our world is changing in ways that we don’t like or want.
Another blow to PC gaming.
