The day has arrived, and the drone ban has gone into effect. What has long been labelled as an issue against DJI drones has been expanded through the FCC list to include almost every foreign-made drone on the market. Through other lists, this has also changed to include many of the components made off-shore, including batteries, motors, controllers, sensors, and more. This isn’t all a dead stop, but the way the rules are, existing models can continue to be sold. It’s a strange thing, as we are no longer going to get the newest tech, but instead, as it ages out, there will be no more features, improvements, or anything to keep us from falling behind. This started years ago, so don’t lay blame at any individuals, but the entire luddite culture that is pervasive in our overall government.
By the time you read this, the widespread embargo on every foreign-made consumer drone will be in effect. That’s essentially all of them.
