A while back, I was pitched the idea of covering Flock traffic cameras as a good thing. I resisted, and a few times over the years, I’ve talked about my distrust of them. It seems that these automatic license plate readers are everywhere, now passing over 100,000, including two in neighboring HOAs. It also seems like they are tracking far more, from pictures of your car, identifying colors, marks, make and model, and yes, even your bluetooth is now potentially trackable. Nothing seems to keep them in check, however, as they tout their tight connection with law enforcement.
Mounting privacy and security issues have residents and activists concerned.
