California’s Protect Our Games Act was covered here on CTR about a month or so ago, and it seems it’s failed to leave their Senate committee. That’s not to say that it’s out of the water, but it does mean that it’s stalled out. The more that I saw of this, the more I was concerned, as it lacked some of the answers that we need about how it would protect our investments, as well as the smaller players in the gaming industry. I’ve said it before… but politicians are not tech savvy, and some of the authorship of this bill made that apparent. I’m not fond of how the opposition brought bad ideas to shut this down either, but the fact that it’s stopped is what I have to hold solace in.

At least for this session, the Stop Killing Games campaign has hit a wall in the California Senate.
