SpaceX stock hit over $200 about 45 days ago. That initial bump of the IPO pushed Elon Musk into what healthy Trillionaire status for a short while. In the ensuing weeks, even though SpaceX has had decent success and press, it has dropped down around $112 by the middle of this week. This journey cut Elon Musk’s wealth about in half, to a paltry $700 billion. Elon does seem to be aware of it, posting on X with a note of “(former) trillionaire” showing he does have a sense of humor. Still, while SpaceX was a brief attention getter for the stock price, it also bears to reason that there’s great long-term value in their ventures in space. Time will tell, and Elon’s not really hurting, with enough money to continue many quests.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO recently acknowledged his fortune’s decline, calling himself a “former” trillionaire.
