Amazon Alexa+ has been out for about 6 months, and while it’s been free to Amazon Prime customers, it’s been a hefty $20 a month for non-customers. Amazon announced this week that they were going to allow all eligible Fire TV devices the same plus experience for free. This experience is an expansion of capabilities over the previous level, adding in natural language and more interactions with smart home devices. The compatible devices extend to all of the current-generation Amazon Fire items, as well as many other smart TVs with Alexa built-in. This expansion of the free service is only to US customers right now, but I’m sure they’ll be watching the interest elsewhere.

You can now talk to Alexa+ for free if you have a Fire TV device and live in the US.
