This week, Meta announced they have a new toy for the nerds. Muse Glimmer is an agentic AI platform that will run locally on your laptop, with caveats like 32 GB or more of RAM, certain video cards, and willingness to forgo information on the Internet. This platform also is not exactly friendly to install so far. It’s built for developers and high-end specialty developer-class laptops. It’s really built for the nerdiest out there, chasing after new ideas of what AI can do on a laptop. Still, it underscores Mark Zuckerberg’s latest manifesto which calls for AI to be available to everyone in the form of personal AI agents. He’s got a long road ahead until we can all have it locally, but perhaps this is a start?
