Those return-to-office mandates from major corporations need rethinking. A large healthcare organization did an employee wellness survey, and it highlights something that seems intuitive, but employers seem to forget. The result from the 7,704 employees was that fully remote workers had the highest levels of well-being, and those who were on-site full-time had the lowest levels. This also threw a theory in the trash that connectivity or culture suffered, which wasn’t the case, as well as another that hybrid was just as good. Remote workers were more likely to use words associated with teamwork, inclusion, and support when asked to describe the workplace culture. Turnover was less amongst remote workers as well, with half the turnover coming from on-site workers as opposed to hybrid and remote.
