The massive SpaceX Starship is on the launch pad and is slated for orbit on Monday. Primary goals are proof-of-concept and reaching orbit, but along the way, it will also deploy 26 Starlink V3 satellites. There is still a lot of work on this that they are ironing out, including return-to-Earth, a heat sheild, and more. Still, the approach of SpaceX has been to keep going and improving everywhere they can. So many layers exist beyond this, including the goal of reusability, moving us back to a place where it can deliver 100 metric tons to space. It also factors heavily on the plans for frequent trips to the Moon, Mars, and more. As many as 5 more launches may come before the end of the year for the platform.

More than a decade of work has all led up to this moment, with Starship’s fourteenth mission scheduled for this coming Monday.
