Amazon, probably one of the largest sellers of Roomba, has decided they will vacuum up the company for $1.7 Billion. This is after iRobot, the main corporation, cleaned house of about 10% of their employees. Still, Amazon has also cleaned up each year at Prime Day for 8 years, where this fanciful Rosie the Maid (Jetsons) has been a featured big ticket item on the sales list. This does add to the idea of Amazon pushing further into the smart home, after owning many companies in the space. The deal isn’t done, but it’s a good chance they’ll succeed.

Amazon’s deal also helps to shore up iRobot as the Roomba maker faces new challenges.
